Welcome to Steve's new home on the web!

OperaMan!

Oct, 17 2007

Steve has been cast in an opera. For serious, guys. The opera is based on Thornton Wilder's novella, the Bridge of San Luis Rey. It is a modern folk opera written by Paula Kimper, who also wrote the acclaimed "Captivation of Eunice Williams."

Steve has been cast as Manuel, the twin brother of Esteban, who is one of the victims who dies on the bridge. It's pretty radical, and Steve even has a death scene. Neat!

There will be a lightly staged performance of the Opera at the Eric Carl Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst. The show is at 8:00, with tickets costing $18 general/$15 students and seniors.

Julia Suriano is also in the opera as Pepita, a little orphan girl. She is fantastic of course.

If you like opera, come and check this out. Or if you want to see Steve and Julia sing all opera-like, that's cool too.
